This little snippet of info in regards to the motorcycle world was pretty interesting.

I never realized how many problems Benelli and Mondialhave been having. Benelli's new owner, TVR, fell through and was bought by some Chinese Corp., and thusly, IMHO, cheapened an otherwise intruiging and exclusive brand. They plan to produce 3000 Benelli's, but no word on what kind.

Mondial has their factory broken into and 200,000 pounds worth of motorcycles and components were stolen. In addition to that, the potential owner of Mondial had the deal slipped right out from underneath his nose and now Mondial is again up for sale.

Gosh... such great sounding brands are having the darndest of troubles recently. That Benelli Tre looks absolutely amazing, and if I had the cash, I would love to get it.

Other than that, Ducati might be putting the 140 hp 999 motor in a new Monster. MV Agusta is producing a $52,000 version of the F1000 with 190 hp. A $72,000 version with 220 hp is also expected, unless Proton, MV's owners, can fix up their money problems.

The Griso also showed up at the show too.

Isn't it time Ducati re-skinned the Monster?

If it were not for the new "classic" series, this company would be in trouble down the road soon.

I´ve picked up some hints that the Mondial break-in wasn't necessarily done by your regular bike burglar... that the factory was very close to go into receivership when it was, perhaps, conveniently raided.

Ugly rumours, of course. But thats what we thrive on...

Regardless of whoever did it or for whatever reason, just the simple fact that so much in terms of bikes and equipment was stolen is almost reason enough to want to close up shop. If I were that guy wanting to resurrect Mondial, I would be absolutely devastated.
