So it would seem that the mechanisum is in place, but obviously can't say how it applies to your side of the pond. Having said that I also have personal motoring breakdown cover, and I extended that to cover my trips abroad - abit of belt and braces and also confidence in all things Guzzi administrife (sic)
Guzzirider Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I had a puncture near a place called Castlenou in the Pyrenees. Guzzi promised a breakdown truck in an hour- it actually took four hours. Only bonus was that the puncture happened in the only village for miles and we had a nice meal in the hilltop restaurant while we waited for the truck. He was merely going to inject some goo into the tyre to fix before I pointed out it was a tubed tyre (my Jackal) so he had to tow me into Perpignan. He said that Guzzi breakdown were insisting he took the bike to the official Guzzi dealer so we headed that way only to find that the dealership no longer existed so we eventually ended up at a Yamaha dealer who were great and fixed it in no time. I now use the breakdown cover supplied by my insurer Carole Nash and I feel more confident about their service. Mal had a wheel bearing fail in the Dolomites last year and he used Carole Nash- the guy in the breakdown van owned a Guzzi, was a member of the local Dolmites Guzzi club and took the bike to a garage owned by the president of the club who fixed it quickly- what good service is that? I made copies of the receipt and a couple of weeks later I got a check. No fuss no muss.

That said, I should not complain because I did have a (front tire!) flat within 10 miles of dealer, and the response was rapid and good. Of course, metro Atlanta has tow trucks prowling around like hyenas (I won't say "Jackal" out of respect to those models ). One of these days, I need to review my various towing options, as I am likely wasting money, but I am unsure of overlap. Do know that our AAA RV+ will do 100 miles "free," and that's not bad among the choices. Here's to hoping you never need any such service, but I found myself 500+ miles from home and almost as far to any dealer on my B'io once. U-Hauled it home. Bill
