g.forrest Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 SO WHAT IS IT , COUNTRY OF ORIGIN, NAME DESIGNER?
TX REDNECK (R.I.P.) Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Lino Tonti, a veteran of Aermacchi, Bianchi and Gilera, designed a race bike called the "Linto" just before he was hired at Moto Guzzi. The engine in the Linto was essentially two Aermacchi top ends grafted onto a single crankcase. A Linto racing motorcycle placed second in the final World 500 GP standings in 1969 We had this one before

TX REDNECK (R.I.P.) Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 No problem, the only reason I knew was cuz I got it the first time. I also had a magazine article of a rare green one but, now its water logged along with a several boxes of old magazines the insurance adjuster doesn't think they were worth anything
dlaing Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 That is a beautiful bike. I think the new Falcone 1200 should have had a laid down parallel twin like that one. Tonti was the man!
TX REDNECK (R.I.P.) Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Several pics of the Linto here along with some others http://www.vft.org/Sprint/SprintCRPage.html
