helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Now for something different. The quiz point for this one will be given to whoever finds the bore, stroke, compression ratio and carburetor size. You can try and guess the make and model too but no point for that!!
Admin Jaap Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I'll give the professional Googlers a lead: Moto Guzzi 400 GTS (Benelli engine)
Martin Barrett Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I was going down the Benelli line looking at the 500 quatro Make Model Benelli 500 Quattro Year 1974 Bore x Stroke 56 x 50.6mm Compression Ratio 10.2:1 4x 22mm Dell'Orto carbs
Admin Jaap Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I think it's the Guzzi. I've seen the exact same pic in de MGCN database: But no specs...

Martin Barrett Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 spec here and piccy Make Model Moto Guzzi 400 GTS Year 1974 Engine Air cooled, four stroke, transverse four cylinder, OHV, Capacity 397.2 Bore x Stroke 50 x 50.6mm Compression Ratio 10.2:1 Induction 4X 20mm Dell'Orto VHB carbs This was the site I'd found the benneli engine on just couldn't get a close match on the body work.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Rack up another one there Martin. I had hoped the similarities to the Benelli would slow things up a bit but not for long I see.
Martin Barrett Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 No shouldn't be my point. Jaap identified the bike. He just didn't google the specs. I know the question was the other way around, but Jaap was the man who identified it.
Admin Jaap Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Sorry Martin, but in this case I'm the Allmighty Quiz God. Your point!
Martin Barrett Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Can I make a case for an appeal. In Guzzi Tim v Helicopter Jim, the judgement went in favour of Tim Where Tim had correctly identified the bike first, but Jim had answered the whole question. I would submit that this is such a simular case that a case law has been set. To do other wise would create a conflict in dogma and cause the collapse in the belief of the Almighty Quiz God and serious divisons and strife with his Temple (V11Lemans.com) and lead to the rise of the Anti Guzzi (I can't bring myself to say the name). So please take your Quiz point. Or I'll be forced to print it out and bring it to Germany next summer and present it in person
grossohc Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Well if niether of you want it , can i have it. Gary
