beauchemin Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I'm going to have a machinist friend make me an oil cooler block as per Paul's drawing in this thread http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6384 Is anyone else interested? My machinist says he could easily set up his CNC machine to make a batch and they would be fairly cheap - maybe as little as $10 USD each for a batch of 25. I'm not interested in making money on this, so I would just pass them at cost. I can ship them airmail worldwide for about $3 US each. Please PM me with your interest.
dlaing Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Great idea! Maybe if he can add some COOL cooling fins or Guzzi Puffin, I mean Eagle PS You've go mail.
belfastguzzi Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Yes, possibly. It wouldn't cost too much to mail across the Atlantic, would it?
beauchemin Posted November 3, 2005 Author Posted November 3, 2005 It wouldn't cost too much to mail across the Atlantic, would it? 65886 I think @ $3 USD. Once I figure out the size of the production run, I'll give more details (probably next week).
beauchemin Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Update: 1. I have had very little interest (only four expressions of interest, including me). 2. I need to find a source for 16mm banjo bolts & washers - does anyone know where I can get them easily (and relatively cheaply)?

Where's that post with the Land Rover washer numbers?
Guest ratchethack Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I need to find a source for 16mm banjo bolts & washers - does anyone know where I can get them easily (and relatively cheaply)? I've been thinking this may be the toughest part of this deal. Where'd Paul get his? Eh, Paul?
Murray Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Surely you have a local hydralic hose fitting franchise than could at least get this kind of stuff in. Kamatso sp? Hitachi Toyota all make forlifts/earth moving equipment/ tractors with some pretty serious hydralics I'd start there if the local hose fitter can't help you.
Guest Nogbad Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Why would you want to eliminate the oil cooler? It doesn't overcool the oil and the cooler the oil when the engine is really hot in summer the better. I'm thinking of fitting a fan to mine to help it out in the summer city!
Guest ratchethack Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Nog, the oil cooler is probably overkill in many climates, including both yours and mine most of the time. But it gets pretty warm here in the summer, so I'm also glad I've got one. To me, the oil line "ells" at the front of the case have always looked particularly vulnerable to assault by a rock or other kinds of Southern California feeway debris. My thinking was that It'd be easy enough to keep the bypass block in the tool kit as a hedge against any actual need for it on the road, along with my aftermarket pawl spring. I figure that their combined weight, cost, and size'd all be less than that of a karma bell...
Paul Minnaert Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I've been thinking this may be the toughest part of this deal. Where'd Paul get his? Eh, Paul? thats easy, the orginals go in, you don't need others:-)
Guest ratchethack Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 thats easy, the orginals go in, you don't need others:-) 67779 Ours are different. They have "ells', not banjo unions.
Paul Minnaert Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Ok I forgot, the n the ones from a sport1100i, but the local pipe store might be cheaper.
