macguzzi Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Very strong rummors coming out of Italy, Guzzi have crushed thier existing spares stock for vee twins from concept up until the V11. This was just like Ducati a few years ago. These marketing guys only wish to sell new bikes, they just don't realise it's us guys that have kept them going through thick and thin, in Guzzi's case it's always been thin. Even when they sell us crap we are still happy. Come on Guzzi lets talk. Your buyer's could have designed a better classic cali than the design department has managed, hats off to the Norge if it is up to the build quality, but after buying a new Guzzi I doubt it.
Steve G. Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 If this is true, I'm totally pissed. Mark my words, I'll sell mine. If I wanted pitiful spares supply, I'd just go get a Kawasaki. Ciao, Steve G.
Alex-Corsa Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Guzzi have crushed thier existing spares stock for vee twins from concept up until the V11. This was just like Ducati a few years ago. Can you please say this again, Quite frankly I can't understand what does exatlly means !! Thanks
Skeeve Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Very strong rummors coming out of Italy, Guzzi have crushed thier existing spares stock for vee twins from concept up until the V11. 67830 I suspect this is just a vile rumour. Even if Piaggio wanted to create space at the factory, they'd just find a distributor who wanted to buy the parts at a discount; that would still bring more than selling them for scrap! Don't go getting your throttle in a twist just 'cause somebody has figured out how to punch a lot of peoples' buttons all at once...
Mal Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 IMHO this sounds like a daft rumour, I'd ignore it if I were you and carry on enjoying life Mal
mdude Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Doubt it. Look what happened to Laverda. After Laverda broke its neck and was bought by Aprilia, the spares stock was sold complete to another italian company (3cmoto.it), and now spares availability for the Zane Laverdas, which died in 2000, is WAY BETTER than Moto Guzzis. I think this is the way they do it. Italians like their classics, not much is wasted. No sweat, enjoy your beer...and all that....

macguzzi Posted November 18, 2005 Author Posted November 18, 2005 rubbish 67897 Sorry guys this is not rubbish, I have now heard this from three different sources. Guzzi erected a compactor in the courtyard and compacted.
V11UK Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I thought that vehicle manufacturers had to (by law) supply spares for 10 years after a model had ceased production and hasn't this German dealer bought the least remaining stocks of V11 motors? Internet based rumours - don't you just love them .
DeBenGuzzi Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 If they're just going to compact the shite why don't they give it to me, I'll even pay the shipping.
Paul Minnaert Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 So mr macguzzi, what sources do you have for this news? That a new owner cleans out old stock isn't new, Aprilia did this when they got guzzi and Teo Lamers got all of it. A lot of that was from the small bikes, and also a lot of unfinished products. A lot of things used in a guzzi aren't made in the factory, so they will still be avaiable if there is a demand. Further the parts prices from guzzi make that used parts get interesting. So used bikes are sold in parts and at that moment guzzi doesn't sell parts anyway. So why would they keep all the stock?
Guest lexV Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 what about this??? http://www.hmb-guzzi.de/html/teileangebot.htm Lex V
