V11UK Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I've looked in all the obvious places but can't find any mention of an 'official' event taking place in Italy next year to celebrate the factories 85th birthday . The actual anniversary is in March sometime. Can anyone help please?
Martin Barrett Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I thought that next years GMG would be the big celebration. But they're not very good at promotion, will have to wait till the summer for info. Meanwhile I will have used all my leave and brownie points up on other trips.
Guzzirider Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I would guess it will be September sometime. Guy
Skeeve Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I've been asking about this since this year's GMG! So far, nobody has any idea. Like Martin wrote: Guzzi doesn't seem to have much talent at self-promotion!
Guzzirider Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I went to the 80th which was held in late September- I would not be surprised if it was this time of year again but you won't hear anything for a while unless Ewan has used his Jedi skills to extract information from the Guzzi management!
Guzzirider Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Its going to be 16th / 17th of September- weather should still be good hopefully. Guy
macguzzi Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Its going to be 16th / 17th of September- weather should still be good hopefully. Guy 70741 If you look at Teo Lammers site there are full details. www.tlm.nl
Martin Barrett Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 If you look at Teo Lammers site there are full details. www.tlm.nl 70750 I think that possibly relates to this year 2005. in the heading text says 2004 and a dip sample of dates show fri/sat /sun for 05 and sat/sun/mon if put on 06
Guzzirider Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Its going to be 16th / 17th of September- weather should still be good hopefully. Guy 70741 I got the dates from Grumblemonger for 2006
Martin Barrett Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 I got the dates from Grumblemonger for 2006 70770 Bob got it wrong this year on his first article on the 05 GMG I had a quick look at the TLM site and compared the GMG and one other event in September. The dates given on both accounts came out against an 06 calendar as Sat- Mon but against an 05 were Fri - Sun. Most events seem normally Fri evening to Sunday. To be fair having looked in the Grumblemonger, waiting for me at home. It does only say 16th?. So an educated guess would be for that weekend but not confirmed.
Guzzirider Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Well if I go I will be camping so not worried about booking accomodation for any dates- just need to book the ferries. Will probably ride down there in two days and back the same. Guy
Skeeve Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I got the dates from Grumblemonger for 2006 70770 Is that a publication or an individual's online handle? I'm still looking for official dates w/ a provenance for verification...
Martin Barrett Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Is that a publication or an individual's online handle? Admin Jaap Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 There still isn't an official date from the factory! But you are probably right about the dates. It looks like I'm going too. With a group of about 200 Guzzisti. TLM organises this trip every 5 years.
