Guzzirider Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Looks like a GTV500- can't quite make out the whole of the motor- is there a second cylinder tucked away at the back from a 2C?
Admin Jaap Posted December 12, 2005 Author Posted December 12, 2005 GTV 500 it is, but that's not special.
jrt Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 the body looks just like a 1937 GT S I can't see it from this side, but this is also about the time that Guzzi came out with the GT 4V four valve motor. The head on this one is different than what I'm used to seeing and it's hard to make out if that's a four valve head. A picture from the other side would confirm or deny
Martin Barrett Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 What's special about this ol'Goose? 70397 You've just bought it?

belfastguzzi Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Santa selected it as a Christmas surprise for Ben deBen?
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 The heel brake lever is interesting. The exhaust pipe looks unusual also but I''m not at home so I don't have my books to compare it with other photo's. It seems to have a convex mirror on the side of the oil tank. I don't know what is special about this bike. Sorry.
Alex-Corsa Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 All what is said?? Does it do it? Well, the color is special, to me, never seen that coloration in a Goose of that early years production/ I sence there is something strange goin on also with the spark plugs.... is it twin spark .?... What's special about this ol'Goose? 70397 Well be more specific. What's so special as a Guzzi? what's so special compared with other similar models? With the Guzzis produced that same year? Reffered to what? is that special standing for
mark.gilmore Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 The two dildo's under the cylinder head.
Admin Jaap Posted December 13, 2005 Author Posted December 13, 2005 None of the above, but I won't keep you guessing any longer: It has a Velox head on it. On the dutch Guzzi forum there was a thread about it; I had never heard of it before, ergo: quiz! I can't translate the article, no time, but I guess that with a little effort you can find info on the web.
mike wilson Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Blimey! That went quickly! Blinked and missed it - I would never make a gunfighter. That is an unusual head. Cast alloy (with integral rocker box?) looks very anachronistic with the girder forks. Seems to be a point for you. mike
