antonio carroccio Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 It is to prevent what was mentioned above- oil starvation as the bike is accelerating or braking hard, or occasionally pulling a little wheelie. Recommended engine oil capacity is 3.5 litres- I fill up with 4. Been doing this for a couple of years with no problems at all- I trust my dealer- he knows his stuff. Guy 75190[/snapback] can you please tell me which oil do you usually use? Semi synthetic... Full synthetic... Organic... Else... This story is curiously to me. 4 litres oil is too much for me. I know, you just tell us you never have had problem… Is the bike not “smoking”? Not ever seen or inside the muffler is the “tar”?

Please do not start an oil thread anyone or I just may have to top myself with boredom! Guy

DeBenGuzzi Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 maybe there should just be an FAQ for oil in these things much like the Exhaust one.
docc Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Oh, we never get tired of talking about oil. Wonderful stuff and everybody has some.
