mdude Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 that's hmb-guzzi.de who got all v11 leftovers from factory, he has plenty: 76436 consider that I recently got a quote from Maxton in the UK on cartridge inserts in the Marzocchis for 390 pounds. then the Ohlins look a bit pricey, dont they?
Paul Minnaert Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 no beause the marzochi won't be Ohlins after an insert. And 390 pound is some 500 euro? sell the marzzochi for 250 pound then you are near.
jihem Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 He will ship it Worldwide ***1200,- Euro*** 76435 do you know him ? I'm asking this cos he gave me a very different (but still interesting) price..1490 shipping included... i'm actually very interested. Are they good Ohlins forks or "low-end-products-done-in-a hurrywith-cheap-components-to-satisfy-a-customer-we're-not-so-sure-about" ?
Paul Minnaert Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 The guy is ok, he sells in ebay, and if noone else bids you can have it for 1200, or more(1490) if you buy direct. The forks are what is used in rossa corsa and cafe sport. Nothing wrong with them, maybe you need different springs, but try it first. They are longer than most forks, just as the v11 forks= 770 top to centre axcle. You might need a new adapter to mount the brakes, they are 65mm distance, you have 40mm I think? Want to know more, the is a very long topic about it : http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1201&hl=

dlaing Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 That is a great price! I wonder if he has manuals for those forks???? The manuals posted on Ohlins' web site are for slightly different models.
Paul Minnaert Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 where do you need the manual for? the ohlins manuals give the basics, the rest is "fingerspitzengefuhl" ok here the text: Adjusting the "ÖHLINS"telescopic fork (V11 Le Mans Rosso Corsa) (figures 55 and 56) The motorcycle has a hydraulic sliding fork equipped with damping adjusters for rebound and compression. The fork is set to the following values at the factory: - Rebound (Allen screw «C» on both fork leg bottoms): 13 clicks from “fully closed position” - Compression (Allen screws «A» and «B» on top plugs): 13 clicks from “fully closed position” - Spring preload (nuts «D» and «E» on top plugs): 13 turns, i.e. 13 mm. Sliders should come out from the handle hub by about 2 mm, that is up to the first round mark on the very slider. Use only Ohlins 1309 oil. Note: do not force the adjusters beyond their stop positions. R.h. and l.h. legs are set to the same values. Hydraulic adjusters have their zero position at their “fully closed position”, whereas spring adjusters have their zero position at their “fully open position”. At assembly, close the wheel pack (pin and clamps at leg bottom) in the end, after pumping the fork twice or thee times up and down so to adjust the forks and their parallel position one to the other. Do not change these settings so not to affect vehicle stability and safety while riding. Adjusting the "ÖHLINS" rear monoshock (V11 Le Mans Rosso Corsa) (figures 57,58 and 59) The motorcycle has a monoshock equipped with separate adjusters for spring preload and hydraulic braking during rebound and compression. The fork is set to the following values at the factory: - Rebound (ring nut «A»): 14 clicks from “fully closed position” - Compression (adjuster «B»): 12 clicks from “fully closed position” - Spring preload (nuts «D»): 15 mm starting from unloaded spring. Use only Ohlins 105/1 oil. Turn the ring nut “A” to adjust hydraulic braking during rebound depending on single needs and motorcycle load. Turn the adjuster “B” to adjust hydraulic braking during compression. Loosen the ring nut “C” and turn the ring nut “D” clockwise or anti-clockwise with a pin wrench to adjust spring preload. Turn clockwise to increase spring preload. Note: lubricate the threading between the monoshock body and the ring nut «D» with “SVITOL”, oil or grease so as not to damage the threading. Hydraulic adjusters have their zero position at their “fully closed position”, whereas spring adjusters have their zero position at their “fully open position”. Do not change these settings so not to affect vehicle stability and safety while riding.
