Montreal Show?

All of the local Guzzi riders are going; which would be me. And some of the BMW guys are currently begging their wives for permission.

The plan is:

Sat, 2/25 Go cart racing, shooting pool, drinking bear and of course behaving badly. We may look at a few bikes, for sure will look at alot of women, and those that survive this will probably go out clubbing later.

Sun, 2/26 probably a late greasy breakfast and then we'll check out some ice racing if there is actually any ice.

Although I can't imagine anyone here would stoop to this sort of thing let me know if you'd like to join in ( yes I know, if only to let others know what to avoid in the future ).

Hello Bruce. I would love to go but I'm not sure I can trust the weather between BC and Quebec to ride my V11 and my truck burns too much gas.

I am wondering if you are from Quebec? I don't believe I have heard from anyone in Eastern Canada on this forum and would like to know if there are any Easterners on here. I know there are Guzzi's in the East including V11's but no one is speaking up.

Cheers

Jim

Hi Jim,

Actually I live in Vermont and hang in Montreal. My wife is from Vernon out your way. So far I've been averaging one Guzzi sighting per year in the wild, small wonder the local dealer closed. There is a small dealership in Montreal.

It's pretty quite around here as far as Guzzi activity, I was hoping a few North Easterners might make the show.

Well mostly it's an excuse to get away and carry on.

The show itself is a consumer oriented trade show. All the major manufacturers will have their stuff on display and you can usually sit on the bikes too. Sometimes Canada gets models that aren't sold in the States. MG has not been there in the past. Also, there are lots of equipment suppliers as well, Arai, Rukka, etc, etc. And yes some of them may use smokin' totaly hot women to create further interest in their junk though I don't think you'll be allowed to sit on them:grin: .

The Vintage guys usually have a nice display and some clubs will have booths as well. For sure there will be a number of garish choppas and the usual asortment of Pete the Pirate look-a-likes strutting about though in Montreal there appears to be alot more sport bikes than crusiers.

Although the show is pretty big, for me 2-3 hours is enough.

I just got back from the Minneapolis show, I didn't like the griso so much, but I really liked the Breva for comfort and a little bit on the looks, I dunno why. but they paled in comparison to my liking of really two bikes it came down to in the end, The Buell Ulysses, and the BMW 1200GS I want something versatile and comfy. choices choices, If I was going to get a faster bike it came down to the Aprilla Tuono or the MV brutale 990, same price sweet looks who knows and the MV rep telling me they have no problems what-so-ever now its all been worked out to perfections, yeah! I believe that when I see it.

I don't know what to do, I suppose some test rides are in order this summer. :huh2: the GS has a slight edge over the buell, but the MV and the Tuono are like neck and neck in my head. :huh2:

Ben, Ben, Ben...

All the bikes you mention are great in their own way, but the Tuono has a lot more USABLE power than the peaky (albeit beautiful) MV.

I wish I could offer a comparison b/w the Bimmer and Buell Ulysses, but I'm not tall enough to be comfortable on either one of them -- and don't care much about them either.

Now, if you wanna talk Firebolt's...
