Thank's for your wisdom Jaap, running your forum with fairness but firmness. I think alot of us must be suffering from motorcycle cabin fever, and venting our feelings toward each other.

On a lighter note, the weather prospects are turning for the better here, with the western pacific jet stream changing from it's winter freight train towards my area, to a confirmed dryer February/March. Sunny and dry is forecast here for the forceable future, and I plan on shaking the cobwebs out on 2 wheels.

Ciao, Steve G.

I have to agree with Steve and I second his motion for going out riding - in 2 weeks for me. I'm off flying right now but i plan on hitting the roads on 2 wheels when I get back home.

Keep up the good work Jaap and thanks to everyone for some stimulating if conflicting conversation!!

Cheers

Jim

And thanks for not banning Ratchet and me from 24/7.

I hate censorship, but I like keeping this forum about bikes, riding, not-too-offensive humor, etc.

And some of us can't control ourselves if baited....BECAUSE WE CARE. :)

I should run out and get some brake pads so I can ride tomorrow....

only if you slow down

(but technically they create heat even cruising along without breaking...which is why the rear ones wear out soooo fast....time for the annual RatchetHack Ritual brake treatment! )

Jaap is the best, he knows when to hold, knows when to fold'em, knows when to walk away, and knows when to run

Also has anyone heard OF, or dealt WITH, PRIMERICA?? I've been kinda sucked into it and I can't decide if I should delve deeper or pull the eject lever. :huh2:

If you're a Utilitarian, or consequentialist, and believe that the end justifies the means, it's simple. Otherwise, give up psychology and begin a philosophy course, Ben. It'll do you more good in the long run. It even allowed me to forgive you your comments about the French, for example!

Has there been an argument on a thread here that I've overlooked? I must have missed the hubbub  People arguing over politics? Or is it Iraq? Or something else entirely?

I only said they smell, and eat too much cheese, and drink too much wine. and smoke too much, and BAM I get chastized. wtf?

really I have nothing against the french, I don't like france. if you get what I'm sayin.

"people as individuals are very intelligent, society as a whole is easily fooled."

-Adolf Hitler.

and I might have misqouted that a little I'm not exactly a fan of his work but he did make a few decent observations.

we just need to get out more, and I'm no racist, more like a culturist or a nationalityist, but america really is the only country you don't need to ever learn our language, ever they print everything is six languages and get you a translator for most things. its not like we have all kinds of countries or languages within walking distance like europe :huh2: america gets a bad wrap in some ways and not enough credit in others. we just need to get out more.

Yes, gforrest posted a simple question about war, which baited in the need for people to share their relative conflicting truths.

You were very civil and behaved.

No, Jaap is just being cautious, because he knows that conversations about politics, religion and war lead to division of the siblinghood.

:mg:

its usually quite brotherly banter.
