Greg Field Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 IS the clutch replacement procedure the same for a V11 Lemans, I assume so. Do I need any special tools from the dealer? Leaking oil in the back of the motor, bad seal on the main shaft? I assume this leaking is what is causing my clutch to slip after 28,000.00 miles? Thanks Frank 91080[/snapback] Get a drop of that oil on your finger and give it a sniff. Does it smell like gear oil or motor oil? If the former, it is the pushrod seal.
Guest Mr Eko Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I fear to hear your answers.... but.... my 2002 V11 Scura 2 months ago started making a squeaking noise.... before when i did burnout starting from traffic lights... then also when i climb roads, only with open throttle in low RPM, i mean, when the engine is stressed and under effort... yesterday did that dreadful noise at high RPM.... VERY LOUDY.... so the question is.... is that the clutch? i'm at 23k km.... ........i'm considering putting in the 2 disk friction....

Found a good twin plate with lightened flywheel.... made by Bruno Scola... it's slightly lighter than single plate with ergal flywheel.... just waiting to get it home and put it on... thanx all.

Us fellow single platers want to know uh...i don't know if it's an "official" price.... but at least half than new parts... they are - i think - used parts from a california... later i can tell more when i get it home
Guest Nogbad Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Does anyone know yet what percentage of V11 single platers have grenaded? If it's a fatigue problem common to all of that design the incidence should be rising as the stock of bikes with those clutches ages....
