Steve G. Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 is anyone going down there? (i guess if somebody is, is already there <_> 78046 I thought the name of the place was Torino. Ciao, Steve G.
antonio carroccio Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 5000 meter speed skating 1) Hedrick (USA) 2) Kramer (Holland) 3) Fabris (Italia)
pete roper Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Torino? We know it as Turin. One of the nice things about the Italians is that they insist on their city names being used in THEIR language internationally. So do the Chinese, or at least they're trying to. Look at what the wogs call Florence? Firenze! (I hope that's right Antonio ) Firenze has Brio and Spark! Florence sounds like a pooftah's dog!!!!! Pete
antonio carroccio Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Like....Nuova Iorcha (New York) or...... Gli Angeli (Los Angeles) .......give me a break........ I let this to the fonetic barbarian under us!
jihem Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Florence sounds like a pooftah's dog!!!!! 78262 As it happen, Florence is a girl's name in French... at least guys, you don't have cities that change names depending what part of the country you're travelling in... In Belgium, if you happen to start in Antwerp, going to "Liege", it's named as "Luik" in flemish and there are no indications of "Liege" there... Same goes if you start in, let say Namur, going to "Kortrijk", as the boards will only show "Courtrai"...
