gthyni Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 yes, a great day, earlier today Anna Ottosson who was 13th after the first run in Giant Slalom was fastest in the 2nd run at took the bronze. A picture of cute Anna for the old men of this forum: and since this really is a forum: Bob de Jong - 10000m champion I prefer our neighbours Suomi/Finland, Sweden vs Finland is always tough and good games. Russia looks frightenly good though. Finland vs Russia starts in 20 minutes.
Admin Jaap Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 You get your dream final! Finland vs. Sweden Promises to be a great match.
DeBenGuzzi Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 At least the US could score on Finland we just didn't have the defense to go with it. I don't know how it works exactly but with all these players living in north america because of the NHL a generation from now we'll dominate easy right?.
Admin Jaap Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 If they put their sticks where their mouth is.
DeBenGuzzi Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 If they put their sticks where their mouth is. 79968 how did NL do in the olympics again? OHHHHHHH
gthyni Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 You get your dream final! Finland vs. Sweden Promises to be a great match. 79963 yes, Finland looked strong against Russia, Niitymäki was untouchable and the team effort was great to see. Probably a stronger team than Sweden, but there is so much tradition, feelings and psychology when neighbours meet. Sweden and Finland even was one country until 1808 when Finland was lost to Russia. Finland was given independence by the Bolshevik goverment after the Russian revolution in 1917. In hockey Finland tradition speaks for a swedish victoria, Mats Sundin (captian of Tre Kronor and Toronto Maple Leafs) has scored many decisive goals in important matches against Finland. Finland has a slightly better team but Sweden has the a few players that have "the edge to decide the game". The TV-sofas of Sweden and Finland are booked for 14.00 CET (1 PM GMT) on sunday

dlaing Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I did curling in high school, DUDE, Curling SUCKS. ITS only a tiny tiny bit more fun to play than it is to watch. 79803 Obviously you weren't drunk enough. Unlike Golf, curling is a true game of skill, the camera can actually focus in on the action of the competition. Like that silly tiny white ball, who can keep an eye on that? and then you have to watch some stupid scoreboard to watch how your player is doing while they cover some other player with less handicap. Gimme a break. Bowling and Curling are the sports of Kings! It is a real travesty that Golf gets so much attention. I think it all part of the "gold member" syndrome Maybe if they did golf with a Frisbee® it would deserve the attention, but even then, ultimate is soooooo much better than just about any sport, and hockey is kind of like ultimate curling, but it still falls short of roller ball as being the ultimate sport, Rollerball! Valentino Rossi doesn't have the balls for IOM or Rollerball! http://www.videonorte.com.br/wallpaper/rollerball_1024.jpg http://images.google.com/images?q=rollerba...en&lr=&safe=off
Guzzirider Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Golf! Yuk!!!! What a boring snobby game! If people want to put on poncy clothes and boast about their share portfolios while hitting a ball swith a stick then good luck to them. I don't give a toss how much their house is worth and that they drive a Lexus- I'd rather have a life than a stupid sweater! Guy
gthyni Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Live televised salubration on both public TV och the biggest commersial station. Swedes are happy, a few nerds cares about curling

There's the carts, which you are allowed to drive drunk - did I mention the drinking?? If your rental cart doesn't end up in a water hazard, you didn't have any fun. "Would you like the optional insurance Sir?" You bet I do. Then there's "pants-ing" your buddies while they are tee-ing off in front of two other groups of four. Costume is important. If your standing in front of your ball at the tee and your trusted friend whips your britches down, it pays to be wearing a stupid hat and ridiculous sweater. Nobody notices your pants around your ankles. Not to be overlooked is the joy of beating the piss out of a little white ball with a club. Love playing golf, but I only watch it when I need sleep.
