callison Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 AUCTION OF AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF 'MOTO GUZZI' MOTORCYCLES On Saturday April 1st, 2006 HESSINK's Auctions Nijmegen - The Netherlands will sell an important private collection of Italian MOTO GUZZI motorcycles. This collection consists of about 125 motorcycles and other objects. Owner of this collection is the well-known Dutch MOTO GUZZI importer Teo Lamers from Nijmegen, who acquired this collection over the past 40 years. As most motorcycle lovers know, Teo Lamers has meanwhile immigrated to Australia and has therefore transferred his MOTO GUZZI import business to his nephews. Transferring his collection of motorcycles to Australia, however, obviously was not as easily said as done; it turned out to be rather problematic. This is why Teo Lamers decided to entrust HESSINK's Auctions Nijmegen to sell his entire private collection of MOTO GUZZI motorcycles. The collection mainly consists of motorcycles built between 1926 and 1960. Amongst them are very fine and rare cycles, e.g. 2VT 500cc (1928), ALLE 500 cc (1935), GTV 500 cc (1940), Sport-15 500 cc (1931), GT-17 500 cc (1932) and many more. Apart from these MOTO GUZZI motorcycles there is a vast supplement of about another 100 rare specimen e.g. Eyssink 350cc (1951), FN 4-cilinder (1912), Vincent (1951), BMW R3 300cc (1936), Levis 225cc (1923) and so on. The sales further include 50 antique bicycles dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The sales start at 11.00 h. a.m. The luxurious full-colour catalogue (code: guzzi-motorcycles) costs ? 25,00 (postage excluded) and can be ordered by email to in-@hessink.nl.
