Bill...there's no rule stating NO politics in this websites' guidelines, however there is in the aforementioned Mildguzzis' forum policy.  If you're offended then maybe you shouldn't read or post or mebbe' go and post on a different site where everyone has got that warm and fuzzy feeling you seem to call "guzzidom".  I wasn't trying to gain merit through my post, just justifying the personal freedom of people around the globe to voice their opinions on how we, yes, you & I as US citizens, have politically f**cked up this planet by allowing this shitbag to rule.  And they can't have a laugh and poke fun at the fact he can't do more than 1 thing at a time?  Come on...lighten up Bill

I'm sorry, but you're wrong there:

Political discussions are not allowed. There are plenty political forums on the web .

However, I only close these topics when they end up in personal attacks on other members or when I see fit to do so! :D

I like to change things up once in awhile there is only so much bike chat b4 your eyes start to bleed.

:ninja:

BTW I also like seeing that its not just me and everyone I know who thinks bush is an idoit. I also think he's not working alone it takes a group effort to effect the whole economy or the world. I can see it locally with all the businesses and plants being shut down the midwest is sliding into a resession.

Actually the economy is doing quite well, maybe you should look at your local and state government before blaming W. Overall unemployment is very low and the markets very strong, here in NY they can't find enough builders and trades people the place is growing like crazy. Its to easy to blame W look a little closer to home.

ehhhhhhh somewhat. But the midwest is often a stronghold for democrats Minnesota hasn't voted republican in something like 30 years. I know its not all bush. I did state a larger group effort. It doesn't matter who's in office if something is up something else is down.

I love this website! Jaap you have done well!

That being said IMHO allowing politics to be discussed cheapens the site.

I know I don't have to read threads about politics, just knowing they are their and they don't relate one bit to Guzzi's or motorcycling and causes bad will, to me takes a bit away from the site.

Got so bad on another site, some of you know which one I'm talking about, it caused bad will and people had to be banned. It's a much better place to visit now.

Hate to see this site go through the same thing.

but I don't think it'll go that far and jaap hasn't let it get there yet

I know between the main bicker'ers: myself, noggy, ratchet, badmoto, dlaing few others (possible cheif instegator TX) that there is a respect among the banter and I haven't seen anyone come unhinged. ....yet

I know I won't its the internet and if I don't like you I don't have to talk to OR listen to you. Its that simple. As long as the topics stay where they belong and are stated properly in the topic. :huh2:

My Boss absolutely hates George Bush. He never has anything positive to say about the man. I personally voted for GW twice and appreciate his unrelenting pursuit of al qaeda and islamofacism in general. I don't respect the intelligence of my boss when it comes to his ability to judge character in our political leaders, since he voted for Clinton, Gore, and Kerry in the last three elections, but he is smart when it comes to making money and sharing some of it with me. I feel the same way about the misinformed members of this forum who participate in the "Bush Bashings" which is so popular amongst the radical socialist/leftist political movement. However, I respect their knowledge of the V11 and their love of all things Moto Guzzi, and could drink a beer with any of them with no hesitation.

waspp - that is an interesting viewpoint. Others would say that the only strength in the economy is in the housing sector (tradesmen, realtors, mortgage brokers, etc.) and that this is not a healthy basis for an economy. If one's country can only create growth through the domestic real estate market, then watch out for a recession. There is one upside... interest rates will remain low.

The only reason that the unemployment rate is so low is a quirk of how it is calculated. It doesn't include "discouraged" workers - i.e. those who have given up looking for work! There are economists who say that the true unemployment rate in the USA is closer to 8%.
