luhbo Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 It was everythin stock (airboxwise), only the snorkels were removed, cause one fell down and got soldered to the pipe. I did test it with a probe, going closed loop with a my15m. Removing the whole upper half of the airbox may be something different, but you must love the resulting noise to bear it. Already without the snorkels it is too much for dayly comuting. You must love poh-plumbing as well to bear the look of that on your Guzzi. Especially with tape fixing. Besides, these PVC tubes are technically absolute nonsens when used as air intakes. This just cannot work the way some hope it would. Hubert
dlaing Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 thanks for the reply. If I ever get around to hooking up WBO2 sensor, the airbox lid will have to be one of the tests.
Guest goosesport Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 I've got the Fast by Feracci open top setup (no airbox just the filter) and it turned a good result on the dyno with a Power Commander. But it hurts my ears (maybe the Magni faring focuses the noise) so much I'm going to put the airbox back on. Motorcycles, guns and rock n roll have left me with little enough hearing as it is. larry

Some guys don't seem to mind the intake roar at all, but I found my home-shop-made open-top airbox absolutely excruciating. There were no 2 ways about it - I had to go right back to the stock snorkels on the airbox. The FBF oval carbons and Stucchi crossover don't seem to bother me at all....until I open 'er up - and even then, it's nowhere nearly as punishing as that open-top airbox...

I think its too quiet with my FBF cans, crossover, and pods. I want more noise. I am happy with my current sound I just want it to really roar. My bike is nothing compared to those harleys and Honda Hatchbacks we have around here.

ONLY BIGGER Can you you hear me now?
Skeeve Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Can you you hear me now? 82508[/snapback] There's something wrong with a world where this yutz gets to come home to Nikki Cox every night... but not from his P.O.V!
