Without looking {incredibly lazy these days] I would say that this V8 saw the light of day in 1957 and slight green content because the green paint used was applied very thinly to save weight!

So that the fantastic, forward thinking marketing dept. could then build, in the future, a really beautiful :wub: GREEN/SILVER TENNI version of the then, dreamed about V11 Le Mans!! :grin:

Perhaps the green hint implies the "Tree Hugging Hippy" type green..

in that case, this was the first bike to run on unleaded...?

 

or, the first bike to be made completely from recycling other bikes?
