helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 Try to improve the evil handling for the IOM TT 82633[/snapback] On the right track.
Martin Barrett Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Couldn't get enough steering lock to get them on the steam packet ferry with the dustbin so it had to go? or was there an observed trials section and was just too nadgery? or more sensibly brake cooling? too bumpy and would ground out?
macguzzi Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 As two of the top Guzzi riders almost died in serious accidents with this bike the decision was made to change to a Dolphin fairing for 1957, Dustbins were about to be banned and Guzzi had tried everything to improve this bike, even going to the bother of attaching lead weights to the swingingarm. The race team wanted to fit telescopic forks but this was over ruled and Guzzi leading links employed. With the IOM TT being such a long race Guzzi needed to cool the huge brake drum and the brakes were notoriously shit, a Dusbin did not help.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 I would say that is a 100% increase in points for macguzzi!! Well done!!
DeBenGuzzi Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Done and done. that was quite the unique quiz. Toughie too, I liked it.
