helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Make Model Country of Origin 2 unique design features. It sounds like a lot to ask for but if you find out about this bike you will likely find all the answers together.
belfastguzzi Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Make IMN Industria Meccanica Napoletana Model 200 Country of Origin Italy 2 unique design features. 1) It was over-priced, 2) it was under-powered It was an innovative shaft driven OHV horizontally opposed twin, built in 1956.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Better sharpen up those design inovations. They are not even close. Now you've let the cat out of the bag for someone to finish the question!!
belfastguzzi Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 2 unique design features. 83030 It had 2 nifty silencers with spaceship fins on 'em for helping to get yer boots off after a hard day's slow riding.
belfastguzzi Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 and was the model known as the 'Rocket', despite the unique design feature of being underpowered?
belfastguzzi Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 The suspension system seems odd. Does the whole engine & transmission unit pivot on a central pin? Crikey. That was going to be my next invention.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 The suspension system seems odd. Does the whole engine & transmission unit pivot on a central pin? Crikey. That could be my next invention. 83108 Oooooh! He's good. Now if only he would compare the frame to Ducati's trellis frame he just might have it!
belfastguzzi Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Oooooh! He's good.83109 Good enough for a measly point, surely?
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Good enough for a measly point, surely? 83110 A measly point isn't a quiz point! Come on! You can do it! Compare those frames!!!
belfastguzzi Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 It's a spring frame! Is that what your quiz title refers to? (compare which frames?)
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Now if only he would compare the frame to Ducati's trellis frame he just might have it! 83109 These frames!!!! The kind you run your wisteria or clamatis up!! You do have a clamatis, don't you?
belfastguzzi Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 The other design feature could be the use of telescopic forks.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 The suspension system seems odd. Does the whole engine & transmission unit pivot on a central pin? Crikey. That was going to be my next invention. 83108 Do you have proof that they telescope?
belfastguzzi Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 These frames!!!! 83115 The ducati trellis frame is nearly always attached to a Ducati sportsbike engine. Uniquely, this trellis frame is attached to a bottle-nose dolphin. You do want blood from a stone, don't you? The engine in a Ducati trellis is a stressed member. While this engine doesn't appear too 'stressed', it does appear to be an integral part of the frame structure, along with the trellis.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 Oh well! Begrudgingly I beseach De Ben to bestow a be-bloody quiz point upon thee!! Be-bugger! At least you got this one all on your own with no help from anyone!! Cheers mate! Jim
