Guest rosso mandello Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Now that spring is finally coming up, the last thing I have tod do is checking on the valves. I saw my repairmand doing the job last spring, and I mean he did a wery tight 0,10/0.15 setting. I have a problem with getting steady idle, I read somewhere else that it was one of the downsides on too tight valves. What specs du you use out there...

Mike Stewart Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Yep, a looser valve lash makes the idle rock solid. You may have to readjust your idle speed afterwards (I suggest a throttle body resync. after a valve adjustment a must). My idle speed went up 300 rpm after the valve adjustment. dlaing Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 0.20mm inlet, 0.25mm exhaust 83661[/snapback] ...and many of us are happy at 0.15mm inlet and 0.20mm exhaust.
