Hi,

I was about to replace gearbox, bevel and engine fluids. I consulted my owners manual for the correct types, all Agip. Contacted the Agip importer to see if i could get list of places that would have them but they only import the gearbox oil. Question is, what do you guys use and is it readily available or do you have to get it in from England.

Thanks

Use what you can get. Halfords among others should be able to supply your needs. Do you have a Halfords branch?

Do you know what you're running on at the moment?

No need to stick with Agip.

I started on Castrol GTX for break-in period and would be happy enough to keep using it,

but I then changed to a semi-synthetic. I've used Halfords own brand. Currently using

Putoline semi synthetic.

For Gearbox & Bevel box I've tried various including Halford's light. Now using Syntrax Universal, a part synthetic multigrade. Squeeze a bit of moly additive into the drive box.

I've just checked a Castrol list and this what they recommend for V.11:

Engine R4 SUPERBIKE 10W-50

Gearbox EPX 80W-90

Final Drive EPX 85W-140

80W-90 may replace 85W-140 in final drives but the latter grade is strongly preferred

Alternative recommendation is MTX FULL SYNTHETIC

Tried it.

Don't seem as good as it used to be: too watery.

I was in Halfords the other day getting oil for the car, and they seemed to have a decent choice. I think there might be 2 in Dublin, I was in coolock.

Are you new to the bike? I was in Ducatidublin a while back and they mentioned a v11 was doing an advanced training course there, there's not many of us about!

Feel free to give me a shout if you fancy a spin.

Hi,

i have had the bike over a year but not raked up many miles due to work, so i thought to change all the fluids and get ready for summer and hopefully get some miles done.

The only halford's i knew of was in liffey valley which i will be trying tonight. If i bring the bike up some time(live in clonmel and work in Newbridge) i will give you a shout for that spin.
