mike wilson Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 This is such a gorgeous machine I had to give you two looks at it. Point for manufacturer. Point for engine manufacturer. Clues: it's not a Brough (or Superior) or NUT or Dene. Even more interesting news once we have a winner.... mike
Anthro Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Mike: I dont know much about it, but it is lovely Thanks for the pictures... Here is my guess: The license plate on the front mud guard should point to the UK.... The closest I remember is the Brough Superior 1930, but it only had twin exhausts. Anthro
grossohc Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 A beautiful bike , love the exhausts, I will guess a imperial rheingold. Gary
mike wilson Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 I suspect BigJ is the closest, as I think it is the same engine as the flying eight. But no coconut so far. m
mike wilson Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Its a Montgomery with an Anzani engine. 85707 I could be picky and say "British" Anzani but I'm not so nasty. Usually. Two points, Forummeister. Now for the good news. This bike can be yours..... http://www.conway-motors.co.uk/montgomery%...h%20anzani.html About 1/3rd of the way down, just above the photographs. How about another point for the auction price? I guess £38,000.
Guzzirider Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Its a lovely bike- I expect you would have had to be bloody rich to own one in the 1920s. The 4 silencers look wicked. Guy
mike wilson Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Anyone up for forming a consortium to bid? We could store it in my garage and I wouldn't charge rent.....

mike wilson Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 85717 At today's rate, that's £41,902.5 That's your bid. I'm serious about the point; take note, please, Ben.
