wsholar Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Just read about the possibility that an at-sea earthquake possibly generated a tsunami that could make landfall in New Zealand by 11:20am Pacific Time. They've issued a tsunami warning, but don't know for sure that a tsunamii has indeed been generated. That's about one hour from now. No other details. Hope our Kiwi friends will be okay.
beauchemin Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 The warnings have just been cancelled. The south sea islanders can relax!
zappa Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 The surf didn't pump and the headland down the road didn't turn into an awsome point break. We live in the Marlbough sounds which is an inland water way, pretty safe from a tsunami I hpoe.We were looking at moving to the West coast of the South island,on the beach, but have gone off that idea, global warming has also put us off living on the beach.
