when you put the tank back on the bike, should the rubber hose be connected on the left or right metal thing that's underneath the tank?

And why should one have a rubber hose on it and the other not?

Is it ok to just diconnect the hose? I know the answer is here on the site, but my english is not that good to understand every tecnical word!

As you are looking towards the front of the bike as if you are sitting on it, the hose should be connected on the left hand side.

Can't answer the rest of your questions I am afraid!

I've mine completely removed. Saves fiddling time and also the risk of a closed hose. So far without ANY problems.

When I remember right the hose was on the overflow connector. I had it bended once. The result was that the rain water couldn't be drained. So when I opened the tank a really very good portion of water got inside.

Somehow it went through as well. I think I was lucky then.
