Tom M Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 1 hp=1 ps 1 HorsePower= 1 PferdeStarke Only differece is if you have it in din, sae or other notation din = Deutsche Industie Norm sae = Society of Automotive Engineers 91518 Here's a good writeup on horsepower: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horsepower I checked their writeup on torque but mkg wasn't mentioned as a unit of measure.
Murray Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I assume its meters per kilogram similar to Newton meters, ft/Lb's Ie a distance against a mass in a ratio
jtucker Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 http://www.mgcycle.com/megacycledatasheet.htmThey have an odd numbering system. It seems that the order of racy-ness or peaky-ness is something like: ... snip ... BTW, a few weeks back, I bought a 620x10 cam from MG Cycle. I think it was their last one, and perhaps the last on the planet. When I was searching for the cam, I called Megacycle directly, and all they had in the x10 were like 3 or 4 rough billets. If someone were to place an order for the lot, they would finish making them, but as it stands now, they have no plans to make any more 620x10s. I'm pretty sure when I called MG, they told me that they only had 1 left. And according to Mike Rich, the 620x9 is hotter than stock. I think you were right about it having higher lift. John Tavolacci (I can't remember if John is on this board or not?) has the x9 in his Rosso, and for those who haven't seen this yet, there is a write-up and dyno chart here : http://www.guzzitech.com/JTsRosso-PtII-John_T.html

John T raved about the X9, but the dyno does not show a big gain when he went to it. An X10 would probably be the best cam for someone with a 100HP goal, while still street rideable. Still the X9 must be better for touring, etc.

From the Megacycle horse's mouth: http://www.guzzitech.com/Files/megacams.pdf FWIW - my project includes the RR3 (x8) cam. Nasty. Fun.
jtucker Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Glad you got it, but a shame they stopped production of the X10.... snip ... 91635 The only reason they stopped making them is because nobody is asking for them. What they indicated to me is that if they got a request for a batch, they would make them. Just have to keep that in mind... if a few folks decide they'd like to get one, a group buy might make them materialize. I would suggest calling MG cycle first just to make sure they don't have any. I know Mike Rich doesn't, and it seems those are the 2 main stops that were distributing them.
