callison Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably inexpensive (read cheap) hotel in or around the Dublin are of Ireland for early June? I need names, web site or whatever is available. Thanks Carl Allison, soon to be visiting the UK with 4 other family members in tow.
belfastguzzi Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I've stayed at the Townhouse a few times, but with a deal on the price. You could try contacting them and asking if they can do it any cheaper as it's been recommended. There are loads of other (and cheaper) places in Gardiner Street. Car parking could be an issue. Ask if they can give you a parking space. Dublin has been notorious for car crime. Not sure what exactly that's like now. Some sites: http://www.townhouseofdublin.com/ http://www.hostels.com/en/ie.le.du.html http://www.travellerspoint.com/hostels-en-ci-372.html http://www.hoteldirect.co.uk/dublin/ http://www.hoteldirect.co.uk/webapp/hoteld...in¤cy=gbp Someone else may be able to recommend cheaper accommodation, maybe B&B, outside the City.
belfastguzzi Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 When in England with family, we use stay in Travelodge. You could try that?? Us & children in room. http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/r...Dublin&id=28313

How many rooms do you need? I would suggest a B&B, anyway. If you don't mind sharing a 6 bed room there are also some nice hostels. The Townhouse is OK, not too expensive and very close to the city centre. Are you coming by airplane, car, or motorbike? I live in Dublin, If you are in need of some on-site help, contact me in private. I do not live far from the city centre, and I could host your vehicle, if you need so, in a safe underground parking. And, it would be great to meet and have a pint together. Before I forget, hurry up, june is a very busy preiod of the year (turists), it may be very difficult to find accomodation. Cheers, Sergio.

Have fun, John
callison Posted May 29, 2006 Author Posted May 29, 2006 With a little luck, we've just gone the B&B route out in the county. Thanks guys, I couldn't have done it without your assistance. Of course, it could all still fall through and I'll have to pursue a booking again but at least now I have a bunch of bookmarks to assist.
