Is it just me.When I ride my foot seems to rest a great deal on the back break lever.I noticed this alot going through europe but i never really worried about it to much because ones on a mission. The thing is i was out riding with my fellow italian bike fanatic when he pointed out that my right foot was (as he'd like to say)was stuck out at a right angle.Does anyone else suffer?Sorry if this is an old subject but these things we have to know.

Gil, there seems to be a small rash of all the usual rear-brake mayhem lately.

I'd strongly advise you to adjust the cam-stop and plunger-rod adjuster so that you CAN'T rest your foot on it. Doing so unintentionally is the chief instigator of the dreaded heat-drag cycle. It can put you in the ditch at a time and place NOT of your own choosing, or worse - according to a few posts I've read. :o ......see recent posts here on the peculiar vulnerabilities of the V11 rear brake.

My own preference is to adjust the lever very high for better feel. I ride with the balls of my feet on the pegs so there's never any danger of even reaching the lever until I intend to use it.

BAA, TJM & YMMV ^_^

I ride on my arches and dangle my foot off to the right of the brake lever.

I think it is a bad habit, but I have yet to break it.

I am annoyed how my heel hits the brake master cylinder guard.

Perhaps if I adjusted the brake lower, I would be less paranoid and would keep my toes in more.

I have dragged my toes a couple times and don't like the surprise, but it beats the surprise of grinding a muffler or peg.

I have tried riding on the balls of my feet but I feel a tendency to slide off the pegs, and feel it is awkward reaching for the brake and the shifter when on the balls of the feet.

Charlie Chaplin style for me. I have worn the rubber cover on the top of the brake master cyclinder and I think my toes have brushed the ground only a couple of times.

The same on the left also. Seems to make sence only to have to pivot the foot and the brake or change gear as required, and not have to reposition the foot. It's what I've allways done.

The last time I rode with my balls of my feet was when I was 15 and they were in the toeclips of my pedal cycle :D
