That was one of the WORST red card calls (against Mastroeni) I've ever seen.

Harsh. Very harsh.

The question to be asked is how many men each side will have left at the end...... 9? 8 maybe? Even 7? Could we be about to witness the World Cup debut of 5 a side?

If the Italians win this they will not deserve it. The US have played incredibly well in the face of STUPID refereeing. Mind you there has been dirty play on both sides. Farce of a game. I hope it ends 1-1.

When all is said and done, even though they only had 9 men the US were the better side.

The Azzuri were RUBBISH tonight. Sack the coach. Weak, weak.

It was absolutely correct,

in civilised sports to willing try seriously injure key players has no place.

And there was equally dirty play from the Azzuri. But if you watched the game you would see that the IDIOT of a referee allowed equally bad challenges later on to go unpunished even by a free kick.

Italy didn't deserve to win tonight, and I am glad they didn't. Terrible.

I think li Azzurri underestimated the opponents,

in the world cup you can't go 75% and still win games

even if you have superior skills.

But in fact USA got one goal, but they didn't score,

and in the end you have to score goals to win matches.

In fact the USA did score a goal, and it looked perfectly good to me, but it was disallowed by bad refereeing.

Furthermore; the "own goal" in these circumstances was a forced error from a good set piece and was also valid as a US goal. So, sorry, but your excuses for Italy don't wash!

come on,

McBride was standing in the line of the ball

and almost seemed to lift his foot to let the ball through

No, it wasn't forced, it was a clean error by Zaccardo

He wasn't under pressure, the ball just rolled over the foot

when he hit it.

and Yes, Italy did play far below their capacity,

I'm not happy with them at all tonight.

If I had been Italian I had been really upset :bbblll:

Maybe Italy should stick to Moto GP!

That's riddiculous. It wasn't high, he wen't for the ball, he had no other yellow cards. Make up call. Plain and simple.
