gthyni Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 brilliant game, 2 balls hit Robinson's overlayer within 5 minutes ... England were lucky truth is that these teams plays very similar games and knows each other very well, so a draw is the logical result. England has a few more skillful players, Sweden has a little bit better organisation and discipline. statistics is an important part of football, England hasn't beaten Sweden since 1968 the worst part is that Sweden has not beaten Germany since 1958 Ecuador saved there most valuable players today, so 3-0 against Germany doesnt tell us much about what England will fac on sunday.
orangeokie Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I'm going to go with the most technically talented team to win it all . . . Espana!

gthyni Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 When they start playing World Cup Soccer in the snow, Canada's gonna kick some ass! Let's see Brazil deal with sub zero playing conditions! Rj 92779 this is our speciality too, a couple of years ago in the UEFA Women's Cup, Frankfurt refused to play the final again Umeå (from northern Sweden) on artificial grass. It was a tactical move to take away Umeå's home advantage, and it was a BIG mistake. Playing a natural grass in november really meant playing on half-frozen mud. The poor german girls got the arses so kicked!
staedtler Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 MEX - POR we'll see how it goes That's right!....La Volpe is back!!! or dare i say.... liutenant, as in police chief he looks just like the ones on the cheesy action flicks ... what?...you like my tie?
orangeokie Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I'll be the first one to go on record calling for the firing of Bruce Arena and the hiring of Johan Cruyff to select and coach the U.S. National Team.
gthyni Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 or maybe, God forbid, the US side just wasn't good enough. li Azzurri came back and played with great smartness vs Czeck Republic Brazil, at last, starting to show their brilliance,
antonio carroccio Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Deutschland vs Zweden That's kind of game I have to watch with some Belgian beer. Goran, for this time I am for Zweden...

Goran, for this time I am for Zweden... 93004 Forza Svezia! Apparently the german press and fans are already looking at how to win the final. The swedish side really has nothing to loose, and will be national heros if they win, quiet the opposite for Ballack & co.
Admin Jaap Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 ... and the hiring of Johan Cruyff to select and coach the U.S. National Team. With the utmost respect for JC... but lately he only is good for talking soccer jibberish on the dutch television. The only person who pretends to understand him is his regular interviewer and he only fakes it because he thinks he's in the presence of God. Cruyff 30 years ago Cruyff nowadays Goran, I'm cheering for Sverige too, but the Germans are pumped and have the home advantage. My prediction: 3-2 for Germany... sorry! So how about Guus Hiddink and his soccaroos? There's a surprise!
staedtler Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/w/bracket.html OK...so here's how the second round is looking... it's a clear Argentina - Brasil cup final!! Finally Ronaldo started doing something...it was about time! now, my man Ronaldinho..i don't know what his deal is...
gthyni Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I had Italy vs Argentina in the final but that's not possible anymore, so that will be one semi Holland vs Brazil will be the other Italy vs Brazil in the final and Italy will be champs just my
Guest Nogbad Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Li Azzuri won't get anywhere near the final. Probably they will all be suspended before then. Argentina - Mexico was one of the best games I have ever seen. What brilliant football from beginning to end, and Argentina deserved the win. Mexico should be proud of a great performance too. Soon be time to go through the pain of England - Ecuador. Could go either way. Ecuador have been known to put in the odd stellar performance, and England often play like a village pub side, so who knows what will happen. My prediction - England 1 Ecuador 2. (England are likely to score early, hold a 1-0 lead for 80 minutes and then chuck it away in extra time.) Well 0-0 at half time. England started brightly but failed to capitalise on their chances. I thought England started to run down a bit towards the end of the half, and play seemed to be concentrated around the England area. Lets hope Sven can come up with something for the second half. He should play Walcott and hope the lad's alleged speed on the ball can get past the Ecuadorean defences early on. New prediction - England 0 Ecuador 1
Guzzirider Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Half time England 0 Ecuador 0. England just sloppy at the back and no threat in attack. As usual they are not playing to their potential and are painful to watch. Erikson is trying a brand new formation at the knock out stages of the World Cup- what planet is he on? Guy
