they don't do hand signals here, but I remember them from bicycle safety, haven't used them but I have the standard signals and I don't change unless I look, sometimes double look all around me,

my buddy as an R6 with the blinkers removed and set up so the tail lights blink accordingly, total crap alone but he also has rear passenger footpeg mounts with LED's in them that blink too so that works really well, better than turn signals alone for sure. So I would look at something like that as a possibility. maybe even with standard turn signals it wouldn't hurt.
