helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 For the hockey fans out there it looks like there is a great Stanley Cup finals in the making. Edmonton Oilers (from Alberta) made landfall in North Carolina last night and wreaked havoc in the midst of a Hurricane!! Lord Stanleys Cup
al_roethlisberger Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 I wouldn't say they "wreaked havok"... more like "caught up"
dlaing Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Is this a spin-off of the global warming thread? The Hurricane Glo-Warmies vs. the I love Halliburton Oilers????

helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted June 18, 2006 Author Posted June 18, 2006 I wouldn't say they "wreaked havok"... more like "caught up" 92418[/snapback] The main part of the storm seems to have hit Carolina this evening. Will its intensity maintain for a few more days? It definitely was havoc this evening!! Did you watch the game Ryan?
DeBenGuzzi Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 go oilies, WOOOT!!! good game, the canes looked like they didn't come to play, either want to win it at home or are just tired, 3 too many men on the ice???? usually don't see 3 of those a year in the regular season play.
badmotogoozer Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Man! That's gotta be rough! All that work, all that travelling, all the bashes and bruises, the struggle to get through 4 seven game series', all the missed golf tee times, bag skates every second day, taking the cup to a final seventh game and coming home with nothing to show for it except heartbreak, misery, and some frequent flier miles... the blue mile has been reduced to a trail of tears. Edmonton sucks. Canada's team my ass - I don't see no maple leaf on their jerseys! Stinkin' Oilers. Go Whalers! Rj
svjj Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Its great to be in North Carolina. !!!!! GO HURRICANES!!!!!! JJ
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 Looks like we got our wish Ryan. Good hockey and the 'canes won!
dlaing Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 ...and coincidentally the "HEAT" won too! (believe it or not it was due to anthropogenic global trotters warming the hearts of sports fans everywhere )
DeBenGuzzi Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 why did they move the team to north carolina again? how is that a bigger market for hockey than hartford. I mean a small market to a new small market*being its southern) makes no sence other than the owners ego and what he got out of it(new stadium maybe) the way thier ass's are kissed I'd like to see teams owned by cities like greenbay or not allowed to just up and move but close down and dismantle if they have to. stupid pro sports, you should see the ratings these both got, combined. not as high as a CSI rerun.
