Guest kjh Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Hi all, The rear shock on my 2003 V11 is seeping oil through the seal. Can these shocks be repaired? is there anyone in the UK that can fix and rebuild them? What are the alternatives to the oem shock, I know about the ohlins shock, but is there any other alternatives that I can use. Cheers.
Guzzirider Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 I believe Maxton make a decent shock which they will build to your specification. Maxton
gthyni Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 I have a spare Sachs unit laying around somewhere mail me if you want to buy it for a decent price.
big J Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 I've got one of the Maxton shocks.Very pleased with it,though it can be difficult to determine which is best on the billiard table smooth surfaces down here. Compared to the stock Sachs,it's as different as something which is very very different indeed. But in a good way. Put it this way, after a spin,I lick it clean.Give you any idea how much better it is?
Guest Nogbad Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 If you are offered a replacement Sachs, it should be free. I wish mine would burst so I have an excuse to change it.

Coudn't be happier with it.
gthyni Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I use a Paioli unit taken of a Laverda Zane, its fully adjustable, even a bit in length (seat height). I works very well on the heavier V11 since a was a bit on the stiff side on the Laverda according to reliable sources.

The roads around here are plenty bumpy, so need a shock that can take the abuse. Cheers to all.
