Guest Rick Cochran Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I've got a 2000 V11 Sport with a dead tachometer. Does anyone have any experience (good) with having the tach repaired? Any names of reliable repair shops would be appreciated.
Guest ratchethack Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 YIKES! Brings back bad bad memories. . . . . . See an account of a 5-month saga here: (don't miss my follow-up post #6) http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...alo+Alto+Speedo What good does this little nightmare do you? Well, lacking any more recent better experience from the Forum, these guys know what they're doing, and this is a rare commodity indeed with Veglia tachs. Much may have changed in the last 18 months. They may be worth a call. Top company to deal with and they won't let you down - long's y'er not in any kinda hurry. . . . . . Good luck, Rick.
dlaing Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 First thing to check when your Tach goes out, is your headlight. If the headlight ain't workin' then the problem is likely the starter relay. The second thing to check is the ground. Otherwise, I suppose the tach is dead

I did take the back off the tach to see about a bad ground, but everything appeared ok.

Tach shares the same relay as the headlight?
Kiwi_Roy Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Yes, along with the idiot lights and the Voltage regulator/charging. You must also have a 5 pin start relay to power the headlight relay. It works when everything is perfect http://www.thisoldtractor.com/guzzi007/schematics/1999_V11_sport.gif
