I worked so hard last weeks, that I thought I could by myself a present. Because of the plans I have next winter, I'm trying to complete my toolset. So I bought a good torque wrench. 10 to 50NM, should be enough.

Off course I can find the specific torque settings for the engine, but are there also any rules of thumb for normal work? For example I read that a 6mm screw normally would be tightened with 10NM. Any other rough estimations or should you always search for the specific settings?

Thx,

I know, but there are some places where you don't want anything to break... (not only on your bike... )

My dad used to say: Tighten it until it starts loosening up again, then back off 1/2 a turn".

He was a funny man, god rest his soul.

Shit for a wrench, though.
