accessory/fog lights

I'm just curious how others would do the wiring, I know I need to go from the battery, but do I need relays? What do relays do? I did a search on adding the lights and read some posts about people using the relays. I plan on buying regular fog lights and switching out the bulbs for 35w. Also does anyone know where I can get a switch that will mount nicely on the handlebars or someother idea?

Relays just give a low current circuit to switch the main, higher current circuit to whatever accesory. Means the switch/assoc wiring can be lower amperage.
