RonV11 Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Leftover fairing from my Superhawk Streetfighter Project and obviously to much time on my hands... Result a 2000 Moto Guzzi V11 SuperSport... (The Super comes from the Superhawk). This configuration works very well. More wind protection and slightly lighter steering with the fork mounted bikini faring removed.
Keith Foster Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Leftover fairing from my Superhawk Streetfighter Project and obviously to much time on my hands... Nice job, good color match too. How about a front on shot?
RonV11 Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 Nice job, good color match too. How about a front on shot? Thanks... Here you go... A front and a front 3/4...
beauchemin Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 That is THE best looking add-on fairing that I've seen on any V11. Nicely done!
DeBenGuzzi Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Kudos, looks like it belongs there. I think I've seen V11's with Aprilia fairings and thats a lil better considering they were at least staying italian. But a very nice looking Mut you got there.
stogieBill Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 And...you've got a real headlight too! Nicely done!
gthyni Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I been thinking about trying out a CBR600 crash fairing on my V11 so I'm interested in a shot of the frame mounting solution. any chance of a snapshot of the inside?
waspp Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 That really is sharp! Youv'e done a good thing there, that fairing looks like it came on that sport. Nice work! waspp
jrt Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Is that an intake tube sticking just below the tank and behind the oil cooler?

RonV11 Posted August 12, 2006 Author Posted August 12, 2006 I been thinking about trying out a CBR600 crash fairing on my V11so I'm interested in a shot of the frame mounting solution. any chance of a snapshot of the inside? I'm away from home and won't be able to post a photo until I get back... Here's a description of what I did. Both the Superhawk/Firestorm and the V11 have fairing mounts on the front of the steering stem. I made two adapters (top and bottom) to mate the V11 mounts to the Honda fairing support. The rear mounts are made of 1/2" by 1/8" aluminum bar bent into a "J" shape that mount to the fairing on one end and a oil cooler bolt on the other. The length will vary as they are used to tilt the fairing to the desired angle. This allows headlamp adjustment. I covered them in rubber tubing and they are bent to force them against the fuel tank. This reduces vibration. Here is a drawing of the front (left) and rear (right) adapter. photos to follow...
