Greg Field Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Does anyone know what the rate is of the springs in the Ohlins forks fitted to the Cafe Sport and Coppa Italia? Our supplier can get these springs in 8.5-11.0 N/mm rates. For a 230-pounder like me who rides pretty hard, what would be ther recommended rate?
Paul Minnaert Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 11.0 I think I have 10.5 in the daytona , I'm 86kg naked. The 9.0 that were in there ( stock rsv factory) were very comfortable, but on the track I got to the bottom, and in corners it was to much movement.
Baldini Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 On Scura, stock springs are unmarked but according to shop, Ohlins spec card shows 9 N/mm. I weigh around 210lb inc gear & ride pretty hard. With 10 N/mm springs I get correct sag with 5 turns on preload (on stock springs I had to max preload) & need v little compression damping. Works pretty good. I could probably go to 10.5 I guess, your a bit heavier so 10.5 or 11? KB
Greg Field Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 Thanks. That's very helpful information.
guzzi jon Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Greg, I just got my straight wound springs from Traxxion Dynamics, they dont mention guzzi's on there website, but when I talked to the tech guy he was very versed on guzzi's. I'll be installing them shortly and let you know, but I've had good results with these boys on my Jap track bike Jon
