Yep, so it seems. Mine also shows a delay of nearly one second before it starts to light.

 

Could be a communication problem: US-relais in an italian bike...

You've got a female flasher unit. It takes time to warm up.

So that's why I get an international operator on my cell phone whenever I'm sitting on the bike, too?

 

Ok, so it's not an LED thing, it's a Guzzi thing, and if I don't like it I should replace the relay (not *those* relays). Got it.

Followup: Stopped at an auto parts store and found an electronic flasher relay with the same form factor as OEM - works fine, $10.

I am sure it is much more visible than 99% of the bulb only replacements.
