LH weaker than RH?

I have noticed more vibration under load recently on my Sport 1100 I and then after a long time idleing while balancing the throttle bodies, I noticed the LH header pipe was a very dark colour.

The RH was not as dark. Then I noticed a difference in the plugs. The RH one was more sooty.

I have checked the valve clearances to Euro spec and they are okay. I have the original air filter housing with a K&N filter. I have the original box with ARM mufflers.

I also have the MY16M with wide-bandO2 in the RH exhaust. The only thing I can think of is a difference in the fuel pressure between sides (filter is newish) or the injectors are at fault.

Any ideas?

Did you check that you bypass screws are turned out equally before balancing.

Balancing is done at 2000-3000 rpm not idle.

Thanks Cliff. My sentance was misleading.

I have done the balancing using several well documented methods. The one I used was to set the the linkage at 2500 (with bleeds screwed in) and then the idle by setting the bleeds.

At idle the bleeds are approx 1/2 out each.

Do you have a version of the MY16M software that allows for adjustment of the injector timing between cylinders?
