guzziownr Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 A big chunk of glass found a home in my rear tire. Has anyone replaced just the rear tire and found good results. I have the stock Metzler on my '04
badmotogoozer Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 pirelli diablos on sale - replace both for the price of one! http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&...0-PAR_1430400_G How much left on the front? I'd lean to replacing them both, but if the front is like new, replace the rear with same make and model - keep the set matched. Rj
Greg Field Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Yes, I will just replace a rear if the front's still OK.
guzziownr Posted October 11, 2006 Author Posted October 11, 2006 Mileage around 4K so the rear was halfway gone. Is this the right size? My bike is sitting in Manhattan in the rain tonight. Quote is from M.A.W. The officially recommended size if you have an '04 would be a 180, wouldn't it? Some choose to fit a smaller section.
belfastguzzi Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Just for fun, there's an interesting dedicated site here for the Metz M3
guzziownr Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 Just for fun, there's an interesting dedicated site here for the Metz M3 Wow, nice site. The advent of the M3 may explain the good price on the M1. I got it for $116 at Dennis Kirk. I hope to get it by the weekend. Until then it is plug and pray! DW
antonio carroccio Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Some choose to fit a smaller section. I choose for 190, it this small enough?
belfastguzzi Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I choose for 190, it this small enough? You and your big clock and whatnot!
Baldini Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 If front is still good it's OK to just replace rear. any change in tyres will affect handling - just take it easy till you get used to it. Good idea to stick to same type f/r. Correct fitment for 5.5"rim is 180/55 (stock) or 170/60. Antonio - how would you describe the effect of a 190. Like putting a pair of socks down your pants? KB
antonio carroccio Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Antonio - how would you describe the effect of a 190. I took that stupid proboscide off by that bloody elephant
