Guest Mattress Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Well I just found out the dual plugged cylinderheads I bought secondhand fit a Le Mans (the old ones) type engine. Guess that means I need to buy a second bike I've always liked the lines of the early 90s SPs..................... Were they sold in the US at the end of the model run (1993?)?
guzziownr Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 90's is old? Kids today... Those heads were intended for 1000 cc racers of the Le Mans IV era. Lumpy cam, high crown pistons. You probably want to start with one of those bikes to avoid hopeless mismatching of components. There's a guy I know... DW
Guest Mattress Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 You called me on that one. No 90's is not old (I hope not). Heck I remember reading Motor Cycle magazine as a kid when the GSXR's came out. I just thought a later model might be more sorted out, but that isn't always the case. The heads will make nice paperweights until my $$ increase for another purchase.
Ballacraine Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Sounds like you will have a long way to go with that then, matey! Nige.
