Sunday, Nov. 5th, 2006 fall Classic British bike show

The fall Classic British bike show and rally at Hansen Dam, sponsored by the Norton Owners Club, and will once again show off great British, and other European bikes, including a good number of classic and new BMW’s, followed by a tour through the Angeles Forest. The Spring event was great fun so be sure to save the date. Sometimes a few entertainment celebrities attend, and Jay Leno is a frequent attendee, browsing for possible purchases for his ever growing motorcycle collection. This is a great opportunity to see a lot of classic bikes, and join them for easy and pleasant ride.

The BMW Club of Southern California will leave from the Dish Restaurant in La Canada at 8:15 AM If you want breakfast first, be there appropriately early, so we can depart promptly at 8:15 AM. The Dish Restaurant is on Foothill Boulevard, about 3 blocks east of Highway 2, (734 Foothill Blvd). It is only about a 15 minute ride from the restaurant to Hansen Dam. After the British ride, bike judging and awards are given for those interested in that aspect of the rally.

SoCal Guzzi is meeting at the Dish to take over the place with the Beemer Dudes. :food:

Kind of a "euro outsiders" pre-event. BE THERE!

Some pic's from last year;

OK, how much did you have to pay the hot paddock girl to pose with you? :glare:

It's cheeper for the day rate...

Hey, we are meeting at the DISH at 7:00AM.

Make it down. We like to ride around the Brit bikes on the organized ride.

Like picking on the little kid in the school yard.

Thanks for posting them! :bier:

That 400,000 mile bike made my butt hurt! :o

I'm but a mere beginner! :unsure:

Yay!

I fixed my bevel drive box leak and am ready to ride.

See you all there!

PS

The workshop manual is crap and I had to get Don Angel to whack the seal out.

Here is what the manual said,

Unscrew the 8 screws “M” fastening the cover “N”;

• Remove the cover “N”;

• using the special extractor, remove the pinion together with bushing and bearings;

• Remove the O ring “O” and the flange “P” under the cover; The thickness of the shim “P” is measured to obtain an optimal contact betwen the pinion “Q” and the toothed crown “R”;

• Unscrew the gasket “S” and the bearing (cover side) “T”;

• Remove the crown “R” and its bearings “U”;

I suspect when they said pinion, they meant ring gear.

Don's special tool was a rubber mallet.

And dang it, gasket "S" does not unscrew!!! :angry: #$%$#%^$%!!!!
