A customer returned a carbon hugger 'cause it had a small crack and didn't fit his bike to his satisfaction. Since it was damaged, I couldn't very well sell it to someone else, could I?

So, I just put it on Billy Bob to replace the huge factory hugger, which despite it's three-acre size by itself does an abysmal job of water control.

First, I fixed the crack with some JB Weld and bolted it on. It fit my bike well enough to look OK.

Here it is. I think its looks are a vast improvement over the stocker. I like being able to see more of the swingarm, too. It reduces the visual mass of the rear end noticably.

Then, I took it for a ride in the rain. In conjunction with the bodged forward protector made earlier from a cut-up inner tube, it kept the water off the rear end at least as well as the stocker. I love happy endings . . .

Looks great, do you have a carbon airbox as well? If so where and how much?

Sorry, Alex, but I don't know of anyone selling carbon airboxes. The sidecovers shown are from Moto Guzzi. Any dealer can get those.

OK , well Daes-Mototec is selling some for 600Eur a piece , rather high price for me to give, the back corners are a bit cut off and the shock absorber can be visible, stylistically this fit more to a V11 IMO.

Sounds good-looking, but more than I can afford.

Sorry, forgive me for being ignorant for a second, where can I get these huggers and for how much?

I like the rear breake pump. Nice work there!!!

BTW the hugger looks too good :food:

Thanks, Antonio. I can't take credit for the pump relocator either. That's part of the Motobits foot-control kit.

I agree about removing the monsterous black plastic "blob" of a rear hugger.

I mounted an '04 RSV aprilia hugger I had left over from my SL mille Falco upgrade to an RSV swinger.

Can you perhaps post more detail how you fix this hugger on the Le Mans? :notworthy:

Thanks, anyway... :sun:

I took the metal license plate backing (U.S. model) off the OEM fender and bent it in a slanted "Z" to form a bracket on which to bolt the rear hugger and to bolt to the battery box lower bolts. Works like a champ. I just got back from an extended business trip and my bike is still in my trailer. Once I unpack, I'll take some photos to try and show you what I mean. It's really simple IMHBAO.
