Frenchbob Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 No, he wasn't a person and in the whole scheme of things it amounts a very small sadness, but Serge keeled over today: he had finished his morning round of the hens and was crowing under his favourite tree, then - silence. Apparently this can happen to highly strung cockerels. He was in his prime, a character, and I shall miss him. The heir apparent doesn't know he's escaped the pot! I don't think he'll amount to much, but we'll see.
badmotogoozer Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Sorry for your loss Bob. At least he got a good round of hen under him before he keeled. We should all go like that. to a mighty fine cock! Rj
Guest Nogbad Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Shame. I feel the board has lost an eccentric and much loved member.
Dan M Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Truly Sorry Bob. Sounds like he had a good, albeit short run. Here's to him
DeBenGuzzi Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I was out on a farm today and saw a rooster that looked like serge, almost funny I was thinking of him today, to serge
pete roper Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I still reckon the page looked better with him at the top rather than that sad budgie that Guzzi use! Pete
Guzzirider Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Sorry to hear bout the loss of Serge- he was truly an outstanding cock and I am sure will be hard to replace. I have just eaten my chicken shashlick in silence.
Ralph Werner Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I just returned from a retirement dinner (not mine) with a tummy full of chicken Francais. When I heard about Serge I almost (but not quite) wanted to purge myself. There will never be another cock like that!
svjj Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Sorry to hear about Serge May the cock rest in peace!
todd haven Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Condolences, Bob. I never fail to be saddened by the news of a man losing his cock. He had a good run, eh?
mdude Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 heres to Serge, a cock amongst men. Thats how I want to go: a meal, a quickie and then a liedown in the shade. suddenly one finds oneself at the gates of the eternal trackday...
Frenchbob Posted December 1, 2006 Author Posted December 1, 2006 Thanks, folks: kind thoughts. Serge humped and crowed himself to an early demise - a brief coup de sang and it was all over: a worthy way to go! I sincerely hope, Guy, that this wasn't my last, truly outstanding cock.

Bob Serge a-t-il engendré un fils ? Y a-t-il un petit jeune coq dans votre grange ? J'espère ainsi. A toast to Son Of Serge Le jeune coq vit dessus !
