The frames aren't the same.

 

No good apellations have surfaced thus far such as "loop frame", "Tonti", "spine frame" and so forth. Nothing comes to mind for me when I look at the new frames either except they look really stout. However, the current Brevas, Grisos, Norge and what have you typically have the VIN beginning with ZGULS or ZGULP. That could be twisted into "Sea Gulls" and "Big Gulp" if you're willing to make that stretch.

The factory GPS specified for UK Norges looks really expensive- as do most of the other accessories like heated grips.

 

Will be much cheaper to fit other aftermarket options than go with the official stuff.

How about "Sponti Frame". Kinda sounds Italian, and the frame looks like a mix between the two.

 

Or what is the Italian word for "stout". I agree, it does look rather stout. Wonder how much it weighs.

 

The Norge has the best integrated look of tank and frame. Still more bulbous than I prefer, but looks o.k.

I got the chance to see a Norge today at the Ohio Guzzi breakfast. While I wasnt impressed by the photos online & in magazines the actual bike in the flesh was pretty impressive. I thought it looked better than anything BMW has or any other touring style bike for that matter. Fit & finish were very high & the little details were impressive. Even the air nozzles on the tires are angled so that you can check the pressure with ease. The lower fairing is way cool & the side panels have chrome inserts that give it a sophisticated look. I seen the silver one & it is good, now I'd love to see one in black If all Guzzi's new bikes are this cool they are back!

USA versions come with the electric windshield and electric grips in addition to the ABS. USA lists 10 accessories for the Breva 1100 (Norges aren't listed yet but the additional stuff should be identical to the Breva 1100 except the GPS unit) while the European market lists 15 accessories.

Utter nonsense. The Griso [at least; still haven't seen a pic of the Breva frame] is a Quotard, as in derivative of the semi-perimeter frame from the Quota 1100es. You could also call it a "Dr. John" frame, since it was his design. The spine frame he lifted from Tony Foale, so it would be correct to call all the Quotards "Dr. Johns..." a la' the way "Tontis" are used for the LM1-V models (& others.)
