Guest Eric123 Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I guess this is the right place to post this one. Anyone out there have any thought or experience about the MZ 1000 S or variants? I have seen a few for sale here in the states for about $8000. They don't have a US website yet, but I have posted some things on the UK one. I heard they have problems with not being good in traffic, but you can do a quick cog swap (from an FZ1) to make it more tractable. I would like to get one next spring. Washington D.C. traffic is horrible.
Orson Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 A poster from Germany on sport-touring.net says MZ is about to file for bankruptcy. It'd be a shame as I kinda liked them.

Frenchbob Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Strange! That doesn't look even remotely like my old MZ TS250.
tripletango Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 MZ is supposed to be coming back to the USA. Apparently there were only 8 of these bikes imported. Seems to me that it is rare enough to hold its value. You can get parts no problem from Germany.
Orson Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Last year, I did a web search on U.S. dealers. I came up with names like: Larry's Lawn & Garden Center Joe's Tires & Brakes Eugene's Small Engine Repair <_> That said, Cycle World had the MZ1000 in a multi-bike comparison test and the MZ beat the Yamaha FZ1 thru the slalom test

MPH Houston and Union Cycle in Indian Trail NC, both of whom I have dealt with and enjoyed the experience.
