Richard Z Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I am in the progress of rebuilding my 1982 Kawasaki ELR Replica. This is the bike I was hit on September 3rd of this year. I found enough pieces to put it back together and had the paint work done..... I am hoping to get it back on the road by the first of the year. Richard Z.
Guest redguzziv10 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Cool !! A bike to match your duvet.
Steve G. Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I love these bikes. Back in '82, I couldn't quite afford one, so had to go for the KZ750. The ELR's are very collectable classics, and very much a keeper. Well done for bringing it back to life. Ciao, Steve
Richard Z Posted January 1, 2007 Author Posted January 1, 2007 I picked up a few more parts and got the decals reproduced for the tank. New tank emblems and a Maier Tinted windscreen. I ncluded the pics of whats left of my ELR Jacket. The last pick is what I hoping the final product will look like. Richard Z.
Tom M Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Your ELR should look great when you're through with it. Very cool. Boy you really shredded that Jacket. How did you fare in the crash? Are you thinking of replacing the jacket with something other than Joe Rocket this time?
Richard Z Posted January 1, 2007 Author Posted January 1, 2007 Everywhere I had protection I was fine. However, until they make a pant that is shred proof behind the knee we are all vulnerable. Barbed wire can be harmful. This pic was after the skin graft and two months off work. I might have posted these before. The Joe Rocket stuff is great. I probably wouldn't be typing this if I hadn't of been wearing it. All the armored locations did their job along with the helmet. Richard Z.
