dhansen Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Wow, that is some serious hail. Looks like I'm finally done for the season here in Maine. We've had snow and ice the past couple days and the roads are now covered with sand, gravel and salt. Gross.

I managed to get a short ride in on Christmas eve but as you have said now the ice and snow hve brought out the salt trucks...so time for some winter mods!
JoeV11 Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 And yet, it was almost 60F today in Connecticut! Too bad it rained all day. Joe

We've had snow and ice the past couple days and the roads are now covered with sand, gravel and salt. Gross. It's winter here in S. Cal, so that means we're limited to only about 9-10 daylight hours of riding on New Years Day. That was still good for about 400 miles, though (we got a late start and kicked a lot of tires). It was tough to find a restaurant that wasn't either closed or full of bikers in Borrego Springs, but this little watering hole fit the bill:

Guzzirider Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Just got back from spending the last few days on the wild Donegal coast- 4 days of constant storms and gale force winds with torrential rain and storms. The power went down on New Years Eve, so there was nothing else to do but drink Guinness and whisky by the log fire.
wsholar Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Where's the beer?? A few of us have been known to have a drink before the New Years Day ride, a little hair of the dog. But other than that, we're a pretty dry group until after the bikes have been put to bed.

You have to stay sober when your riding buddies are drinking Red Bull® energy drink Plus we are stocking up on beer for the 2008 National Rally And riding sober is more fun. especially after the CHiP pulls you over...
antonio carroccio Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Where's the beer?? Come on Jim, beer is for plebeian. At this day the civilized homo sapiens will drink a nice glass of champagne!!!
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 My apologies Antonio. This is for you!
